noz lies somewhere between instrumental music and intimate song, between tribal beats that pull the body free and a hypnosis of the imagination. noz has grown out from the likes of psychedelic rock, folk and blues, noise, alternative pop and experimental music. A crossbreed between a songwriter and a DJ who is out to screw with his own songs, noz seeks to strike a live mix between the infinite possibilities of digital plasticity and the authenticity the acoustic element lives by.

noz is Bernardo Palmeirim’s solo project, a platform he also uses for collaborations. In 2012, he undertook an artist residency with Ricardo Martins in Barcelona, where they deconstructed and reinvented some songs from that project. Their work together resulted in NOZ2, and in 2013 they recorded a self-titled album at the Golden Pony Studio in Lisbon, which has now been released by PAD.

Bernardo Palmeirim founded The Grey Blues Bend (with Norberto Lobo, among others) in 2003, and in 2008 started nome comum with his sister, Madalena, an acoustic project of original songs sung in Portuguese.
Ricardo Martins plays with Cangarra, Adorno, Papaya and a couple of other bands. He also used to play with I Had Plans, Asneira and the guitar/drums duo, Lobster.
